Carestream partners with software firm

Carestream Health Inc. announced Friday a deal with Technology Partners Inc. to have Technology Partners’ billing software bundled with Carestream’s radiology information system and picture archiving system platform.

The agreement calls for each company to promote its partner’s product to hospital radiology departments, imaging centers, physician practices and other health care providers, Carestream said.

Technology Partners is based in Charlotte, N.C.

In other company news, Carestream on Thursday named a chief human resources officer.

Kevin Duffy will lead the company’s worldwide HR team, the company said this week.

Most recently, Duffy was vice president of global compensation for Pfizer Inc., where he was responsible for worldwide compensation and benefits with operations in more than 75 countries.

Also this week, Carestream announced Crystal Run Healthcare in Middletown, N.Y., has installed its radiology information system/integrated picture archiving system.

The new system shares information with its electronic medical record, officials said. After an imaging exam is conducted, a radiologist reads the exam using the new RIS/PACS. The initial report is immediately transferred to the EMR, where the radiologist approves it and it becomes viewable by the referring physician.

Rochester-based Carestream was previously Eastman Kodak Co.’s health group.
