Student loan collection firm opens in Geneseo

Student loan collection firm Coast Professional Inc. on Tuesday officially opened its 4,100-square-foot facility in Geneseo, Livingston County.

The Anaheim, Calif.-based firm invested $1.9 million in the building and the purchase of machinery and equipment, officials said. It plans to hire 100 full-time employees for the Geneseo site over two years.

“We are excited to open our first phase of our operation in Western New York,” Coast Professional CEO Brian David said in a statement. “We are extremely proud to bring more paying careers to Geneseo. Our reception into the local community could not have been warmer.”

The company received a $200,000 grant from Empire State Development Corp. to offset costs associated with the project.
