ESL starts work on first branch in Wayne County

Building renovations are to begin Monday on an ESL Federal Credit Union branch in Newark, the credit union’s first in Wayne County, officials with the Rochester-based firm announced Thursday.

ESL on Sept. 25 purchased a former bank branch near the intersection of Route 31 and South Main Street. The branch, the credit union’s 19th, is scheduled to open in early March 2010, officials said.

ESL has $3.6 billion in assets and some 600 employees.
