RF Communications parent ups quarterly dividend

Harris Corp.’s board announced Friday it has increased the quarterly cash dividend by 10 percent, to 22 cents a share, up from the previous quarterly dividend of 20 cents a share, payable Sept. 18 to shareholders of record Sept. 9.

Harris Corp.’s board announced Friday it has increased the quarterly cash dividend by 10 percent, to 22 cents a share, up from the previous quarterly dividend of 20 cents a share, payable Sept. 18 to shareholders of record Sept. 9.

The annual dividend rate will also increase from 80 cents a share to 88 cents a share, the Florida-based firm said.

“Harris achieved excellent financial performance in fiscal 2009, with strong revenue, earnings and cash flow,” said Howard Lance, Harris’ chairman, president and CEO in a statement.

Harris is the parent company of Rochester-based RF Communications. The firm ranked third on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of manufacturers with roughly 2,300 workers.

Shares of Harris (NYSE: HRS) were trading midday at $34.95, down less than a percent from Thursday’s close of $35.02.
