Energy East Corp. will leave the Standard & Poor’s MidCap 400 index upon its acquisition by Spanish power producer Iberdrola S.A. and be replaced by FactSet Research Systems Inc. (NYSE: FDS), an information technology firm in Norwalk, Conn.
S&P announced the pending change after the markets closed Wednesday.
Iberdrola is an S&P Global 1200 constituent. FactSet, currently part of the S&P SmallCap 600, will be replaced on that index by Glenwood, Ill.-based health care firm Landauer Inc. (NYSE: LDR).
