Shares of GateHouse Media Inc. were virtually unchanged after news that a Pennsylvania newspaper chain has bought three newspapers from the Perinton publishing company.
The announcement comes on the heels of another GateHouse sale last month. On Aug. 29, the company sold two of its daily newspapers in Nebraska to the Omaha World-Herald Company, an employee-owned company there.
On Thursday, GateHouse closed on the sale of two newspapers in Pennsylvania and one in Oswego—The Palladium Times—to Sample News Group LLC.
The company operates 10 daily newspapers, 20 weeklies, two magazines and three commercial printing plants in five states.
Gatehouse shares (NYSE: GHS) were trading at 59 cents Thursday afternoon, down a penny from its closing price on Tuesday and Wednesday.
