HUD chief announces he’s quitting

The top housing official in the Bush administration, under criminal investigation and intense pressure from Democratic critics, announced Monday he is quitting, AP reported. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Alphonso Jackson said his resignation will take effect April 18.
