Expanding Auction Direct taps Monro

Auction Direct USA LLP has inked a five-year consulting deal with Monro Muffler Brake Inc.
Monro will provide the used-car auction house with parts and equipment as well as consulting services as Auction Direct prepares for its national expansion.
Based in Victor, Auction Direct operates a second location in Georgia. It plans to open a facility in Jacksonville, Fla., next month and a Raleigh, N.C., location in December. The company employs roughly 150 people at its two current locations.
Monro’s Rochester-area facilities also will act as service centers and provide presale mechanical and inspection services to Auction Direct.
“Ultimately who is going to benefit is the customer because we can continue to drive our bottom line lower and lower and have a bigger price advantage in the markets we go (into) because of this relationship that we’ve forged with Monro,” Auction Direct CEO John Iannone said.
Monro chairman, president and CEO Robert Gross has been named to Auction Direct’s board of directors.
