Mayor Duffy made it clear from the beginning what his intentions for the boat were. There was no waffling. It appears that he held out for the best offer. He’s to be congratulated!

Why Euroferries was given so much time by the city administration to prove financial soundness is a mystery to me. This is a fundamental first step in any negotiations to first establish the creditworthiness of a buyer. The city administration now taking bows for a sale to the new buyer is the height of spin doctoring and an attempt to cover up their lack of skill and business savvy in the original deal.
