Harris’ RF division wins RBA award

Harris Corp.’s RF Communications division received on Monday the 2004 Chairman’s Award from the Rochester Business Alliance Inc.
RF Communications president Chester Massari accepted the award, which goes to a Rochester area employer that has a record of excellence, has maintained a strong investment in the community and has consistently operated a successful business.
“Harris continues to be a well-respected local employer that provides economic benefits to our area,” RBA CEO Thomas Mooney said. “The division’s success in consistently securing government contracts has helped to retain and grow jobs in our area. It has also helped build our community’s reputation as a place of high skill and capacity.”
The RF Communications division, one of four operating divisions of Harris, reported record results for the fiscal year ending July 2. Income for the division rose 41 percent on a 32 percent increase in revenue. The division has steadily increased employment for the last four years.
Last week, the company was awarded Falcon II radio contracts by the U.S. Army valued at more than $30 million.
