Kodak starts new Picture CD ad campaign

Eastman Kodak Co. has launched a new youth-focused advertising campaign for its Picture CD.
Created by Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi, the TV commercial portrays a teen-ager using the Kodak Picture CD to communicate with a close friend who is deaf and has moved to another city. With the CD, the teen and her friends—who have learned sign language—express how much the friend is missed by everyone.
“We are excited about this new ad because it marks the evolution of a campaign designed to capture the reality of a teen’s life, which includes reflecting the diversity of our teen population,” said Eric Lent, director of Kodak’s consumer imaging for the United States and Canada.
The campaign fits into Kodak’s “Share Moments. Share Life” theme and has received praise from the National Association of the Deaf. The television spot this week will be aired nationwide.
