Kodak names CEO for RSI subsidiary

Eastman Kodak Co. today named a CEO for its recently acquired Research Systems Inc. subsidiary.
Michael Scally, a software industry executive, also will serve as president of the Boulder, Colo.-based RSI. He previously served as vice president of worldwide sales of Merant Inc. in Rockville, Md. He previously was CEO, president and chief operating officer of Rogue Wave Software Inc. in Boulder.
Scally replaces David Stern, founder and chief technologist of RSI. The subsidiary is involved in software development for data visualization. It is part of Kodak’s Commercial and Government Systems.
Kodak officials said Scally is expected to drive efforts to provide scientists and engineers with ways to analyze and extract key information images captured by satellites, aircraft and meteorological devices.
“Michael Scally is a strong leader who has helped several companies achieve outstanding growth,” said Carl Marchetto, president of Kodak’s C&GS. “He is in a perfect spot to drive growth for RSI and Kodak in the remote-sensing and imagery-derived information business.”
Kodak acquired RSI in September. RSI employs roughly 140 staffers and has sales offices and distributors in Europe and the Far East.
