eBidenergy.com to add platform

Application service provider eBidenergy.com said today that it intends to launch a Web-based request for proposal platform to complement its current bid system, which debuted in September.
The new platform will let energy buyers obtain responses to proposal requests directly from competing suppliers by posting their energy needs on the site. The system should allow for one-to-one negotiations of the propositions, effectively reducing the time needed to complete transactions and allow suppliers to offer clients more services than simply posting a bid.
“Early adopters of our bid-based platform have expressed significant interest in an open, flexible marketplace for purchasing and selling energy,” said John Howell, eBidenergy.com’s executive vice president. “Our new RFP platform will give electric and natural gas suppliers the ability to offer multiple pricing supply strategies and value propositions to the end user.”
“Offering the two platforms will give our providers the opportunity for a diverse client base,” he said.
