Lamy takes CEO reins at Logisoft

Logisoft Corp. said today that Robert Lamy, its founder and president, will replace Dave Wilkerson as the company’s CEO.
Wilkerson, who joined the company as CEO in June, is leaving the post to pursue other business interests, including a role in Logisoft’s business development.
Since founding the company in 1989, Lamy has overseen its growth into an overseas e-business firm, specializing in developing ways for companies to conduct online business in a host of languages and currencies.
To that end, Logisoft has signed an agreement with Kodak Commercial & Government Systems. The Perinton-based company will create an online currency transaction platform for the Kodak business unit, which sells high-resolution images of metropolitan areas to customers in the United States, Canada, Italy, United Kingdom and Australia.
“Kodak will leverage Logisoft’s e-currency transaction platform to make online purchases through Kodak earth imaging products more seamless and convenient for our customers,” said David Ledgerwood, vice president of Kodak Commercial & Government Systems.
The Logisoft system translates a customer’s bill into the local currency—including country taxes, tariffs, and shipping and handling fees—and processes them through a U.S. financial institution using a credit card or purchase order.
“This platform is the key to unlocking the potential of e-commerce on a global scale,” said Lamy. “Internet users around the world increasingly expect to transact business in their local currency and pay using their preferred local payment method.”
In a bid to expand its promotional capabilities and offerings Logisoft also has partnered with Harris Interactive Inc.
The two companies plan to work together to coordinate Web development efforts, sales of market research and training. The deal also paves the way for both companies to begin offering integrated products and site designs.
“Having access to the large amount of Internet activity data available from Harris Interactive will greatly augment Logisoft’s ability to build strategic marketing strategies for our customers,” Lamy said. “This new relationship will enable us to provide our clients with enhanced knowledge of the Internet and what makes the Web tick.”
Harris Interactive conducts online research in some 80 countries, in 30 languages.
