A story in the April 23 issue contained an error. Susanna Schuler is interim news director at WROC-TV 8, and Duane Lammers is interim general manager.

Another story in the April 23 issue incorrectly stated that Paychex Inc. received venture-capital financing prior to going public.

Selkowitz Inc. Marketing Communications Consulting’s capitalized billings did not fall by 50 percent from 1997 to 1998, as reported in the same issue. Using the same formula (net income times 6.67) that other agencies used for the 1997 list, Selkowitz’s capitalized billings would be $17.6 million, not $44 million, and the agency would have placed 12th on the 1997 list. The agency used gross income times 6.67 as the formula for its 1997 capitalized billings. For 1998, Selkowitz reported $22.4 million in capitalized billings and ranked ninth on the April 23 list of advertising agencies.

Due to inaccurate information provided by two law firms, the April 16 list of local law firms contained several errors. Lacy, Katzen, Ryen & Mittleman LLP should have placed seventh on the list with 28 local attorneys and 80 local employees; the firm has one attorney outside the local area; the firm’s 13 partners and 10 paralegals are all within the local area; the firm has seven local offices and two offices outside the local area; and banking and employment law should have been included in the firm’s listing under areas of concentration. Jaeckle, Fleischmann & Mugel LLP has 56 attorneys and 38 partners outside the local area; the firm has one local paralegal and 10 paralegals outside the local area; it has a total of 14 local staffers. In addition, the firm does not have an office in New York City; real estate should have been included in the firm’s listing under areas of concentration; and Edwin Larkin should have been listed as the managing partner.

The 1999 International Business Resource Directory contained three errors. Monroe FTZ Operators Inc. (address: 39 Breck St., Rochester, N.Y. 14609; phone: 482-9510; fax: 482-7095; contact: Michael Smith) should have been listed under the distribution category. Spec-Hardened Systems (address: 119 Larkwood Drive, Rochester, N.Y. 14626; phone: 225-2857; fax: 225-2857; e-mail: shsesc@aol.com; contact: Anthony DiBiase) should have been listed under the consulting category. PricewaterhouseCoopers’ listing under the accounting category should have included the following contacts: John Thorne, Edward Short and B.J. Agugliaro.
