–www.fb.com–The site for the American Farm Bureau Federation, the country’s largest general farm organization with more than 4.7 million farmers in 40 states and Puerto Rico.
–www.fb.com/nyfb–The site for the New York Farm Bureau, a member of the American Farm Bureau Federation based in Glenmont, describes programs and contains links to legislative, county and other sites, such as those for periodicals. It also contains a map of New York with information and statistics on agriculture in the counties.
–www.farmland.org–Site of the American Farmland Trust, which is devoted to issues related to the preservation of farmland. Includes a running display of the number of acres of farmland lost since 1970, at a rate of two acres per minute.
–www.cce.cornell.edu–The Cornell Cooperative Extension site includes links to several publications and programs, including its local office, the Cornell Cooperative Extension–Monroe County (www.cce.cornell.edu/monroe/index). The office of the CCE of Monroe County is located at 249 Highland Ave. in Rochester. The phone number is 461-1000.
