Past Athena Award Recipients

Executive director, Compeer Inc.
Year honored: 1995

Since I received the Athena …
I have enjoyed increased recognition and support from the business community for Compeer and myself. I am also fielding more requests to be a mentor and resource for women in non-profit management.

The Athena has given me …
New motivation to advocate for support for Compeer during these extremely difficult economic times for non-profits.

Principles that have served me well throughout my career:
1. Trust my gut feelings.
2. Never be afraid to ask or advocate for what I believe in.

For me, professional success means: Having the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives and helping make this community a better place; setting goals and achieving them; turning obstacles into opportunities for success; and receiving recognition, respect and support from colleagues, co-workers and people I respect.
