All weather is local
Global warming doesn’t bother Larry Day, president and CEO of Monro Muffler & Brake Inc.
Day was told this week that a panel of scientists have confirmed the earth’s warming trend. “I can live with that,” he quipped. “Hot weather is hard on brakes.”

But did they read the whole thing?
Rochesterians and their out-of-town guests had to grub for copies of this Tuesday’s Washington Post, which carried the Unabomber’s ponderous 35,000-word manifesto.
Copies arrived at most area newsstands Wednesday morning. Early Tuesday at the Village Green Bookstore, all copies expected the following day already had been reserved by eager readers, a store clerk reported. World Wide News received its shipment of 10 copies Wednesday morning–and sold them all in 15 minutes.
Sometimes, it pays to subscribe.
