PGA “fan fest”
awaits visitors

The Pepsi Putting Challenge and an interactive Fantasy Broadcast Booth are slated to be featured attractions at the PGA Golf Experience Sept. 21-24 in Genesee Valley Park.
The PGA event, modeled after the NFL Experience, NBA Jam Session and similar attractions, is making its debut during the Ryder Cup matches.
The Pepsi Putting Challenge offers contestants a chance to win a Ron Miller/ Pepsi golf bag. The first 20 participants to sink a 60-foot putt in a single try will receive a bag certificate.
A “free putt” area will be set up to allow contestants an opportunity to practice.
The Fantasy Broadcast Booth, presented by Time Warner Communications, will give fans a chance to describe historic golf action from a model broadcast tent featuring TV monitors, microphones and production assistants.
TV sets will beam the fantasy broadcasts to PGA Golf Experience spectators.
“The fantasy booth venue has proven to be a great attraction at these fan fests,” said Frank Chiaino, president of Time Warner Communications here.
Participating “broadcasters” will receive a souvenir tape of their performance.
Other presenting sponsors and their interactive attractions include LCI International’s Driving Range and GM Card’s Technology Center. Additional sponsors are the U.S. Postal Service, Hyatt Hotels Corp., American Airlines Inc., Wegmans Food Markets Inc., the Lincoln Group L.P. and Jay Inc.
Admission to the PGA Golf Experience is $9 for adults, $7 for youngsters ages 5 through 15; there is no entrance fee for children under 5 years old.
Two-dollar discounts will be available at Wegmans.
