touts Rochester

Golf World magazine’s August issue profiles Rochester, praising the area’s “abundance of wonderful courses.”
It provides descriptions of more than a dozen public and private courses.
Describing Rochester as a place “where golf is not just a game, it’s a religion,” the article adds that the Ryder Cup matches are “the biggest thing to come to Rochester since … well … since two Yankee frontiersmen arrived in 1788 and founded the place.”
The magazine does not urge visitors to venture far from the links, but it has kind words for area residents.
“What the city lacks in culture,” the article states, “it makes up for in friendliness and conviviality.”
