Rochester MicroSystems Inc. has opened offices at 200 Buell Road and is currently serving local and national clients. Specializing in systems containing or interfacing to microprocessors, Rochester MicroSystems provides electronic design and prototyping to businesses and research institutions.
Wordsmart Inc. has opened the Learning Place, a training facility and networking center on Blossom Road. The training firm is offering various career-advancement programs at the center and at client locations.
KeyCorp announced the completion of the acquisition of Bank of Vermont, Burlington, Vt., from the Bank of Boston.
Fleet Financial Group formally commenced a tender offer to purchase the approximately 19 percent of Fleet Mortgage Group Inc. common stock that it does not already own, for $20 in cash per share. The transaction is valued at approximately $191 million.
Monroe Title Insurance Co. reduced its statewide work force by 35 employees, approximately 13 percent of its total staff. Monroe’s annual salary expense will be reduced by approximately $850,000.

USA Payroll Inc. has announced the opening of their offices at 20 Grove Place in Rochester. The payroll service is designed to meet the needs of all companies.
