More charges for woman accused of threatening to kill Obama

Federal authorities have arrested a Rochester woman who already was facing charges for an alleged 2012 threat to kill President Barack Obama for violating terms of her pre-trial release.

In addition to being tried this week for allegedly threatening the president, Christine Wright Darrisaw faces charges for allegedly making a false statement to federal agents. At her August 2012 arraignment on those charges, she was freed pending an Aug. 19 trial date.

Federal prosecutors said Tuesday that on Monday they called for Darrisaw to be detained because of a series of recent incidents including:
• Her July 12 disorderly conduct arrest by Rochester police;
• A July 25 arrest warrant issued for defying a ban on entering the Rochester public library;
• An Aug. 12 incident at the Webster Avenue Recreation Center in which Darrisaw allegedly threatened to “shoot every guy here (and) kill anyone that touches my kids;” and
• A call to the Social Security Administration’s 800-number last week in which Darrisaw allegedly promised, “I am going to the office tomorrow and take that agent to hell with me.”

Darrisaw, 37, is being held pending a detention hearing, slated for Friday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jonathan Feldman.
