Chowder Up dishes out pair of wins in Buffalo

Rochester food truck Chowder Up had a big weekend. The mobile seafood truck won two awards at the Buffalo Soup Festival held Sunday at the Hearthstone Manor banquet center in Depew.

Chowder Up won in the “Best Chowder” and “Best Seafood” categories for its chowder and seafood medley.

“It was an honor to participate in this well-attended event,” said Tim Gorie, known as Chef Tim, owner of Chowder Up. “We were the rookies this year and did not know what to expect. The feedback for our Seafood Medley Chowder featuring clam, shrimp and (crab) was overwhelming. We made a lot of new friends in Buffalo.”

Chowder Up serves food at a variety of locations in Rochester throughout the week. The truck will be parked at Basin Office Park on Pittsford-Victor Road Thursday and at Powder Mill Office Park on Pittsford-Victor Road on Friday.
