July 12, 2013

New and used car sales in Monroe County continue to eclipse 2012 sales, the Rochester Automobile Dealers’ Association Inc. reported.

Dealers sold 3,958 new vehicles in June up more than 10 percent from 3,597 a year ago. Sales were down 1 percent from 4,000 in May.  Used-car sales improved 1.6 percent in June to 2,133 compared with 2,100 sold in June 2012. A total of 2,112 were sold in May.

Sales of new vehicles typically decline slightly from May to June, RADA historical data shows.

Auto dealers in Monroe County sold 6,091 new and used cars and trucks in June, compared with 5,697 a year ago and 6,112 in May.

Some 33,663 vehicles have been sold here this year, up nearly 13 percent from 32,795 in the first six month of 2012.
