Genesee Media general manager to retire

Rochester Business Journal
July 12, 2013

Dorothy Hotchkiss, a longtime general manager at Genesee Media Corp., has announced her retirement after 25 years with the Dansville, Livingston County, media and advertising company.

As general manager, Hotchkiss led operations at classic rock station WDNY 1400-AM and adult contemporary station WMRV 93.9-FM. She first joined Genesee Media Corp. as a phone sales representative at WDNY in 1988.

“I enjoyed the opportunity to work with many businesses and communities in the surrounding counties through promotions and advertising,” Hotchkiss said. “The staff I have worked with over the years has been a lot of fun and their individual contributions have allowed me to be successful in the leadership role.”

Genesee Media Corp. serves Genesee Valley, the western Finger Lakes and parts of the Southern Tier. In March, the company acquired WASB 1590-AM in Brockport and WRSB 1310-AM in Canandaigua from Marilyn Wolfe for $450,000.
