Fix, Spindelman, Brovitz & Goldman P.C. has joined forces with Woods Oviatt Gilman LLP, officials of the law firms said Tuesday.

“We were attracted to Woods Oviatt because of the synergy created by joining together to provide our clients with the best possible legal services available in our area,” said Richard Brovitz, former Fix, Spindelman managing principal.

Brovitz, and two other Fix, Spindelman lawyers—Jerry Goldman and Betsy Brugg—join Woods Oviatt as partners. Others joining Woods Oviatt are James Bonsignore, Paula Lapin, Townsend Kinsler, Reuben Ortenberg and Joshua Pheterson.

“The group joining us from Fix Spindelman brings added depth, sophistication and support to our existing capabilities in the areas of corporate, real estate and other business transactions, as well as real estate development and land use,” said James McElheny, managing partner of Woods Oviatt.

The Rochester Business Journal’s most recent Law Firm list, published last August, placed Woods Oviatt as the region’s fourth largest law firm with 76 attorneys and ranked Fix, Spindelman as 17th largest with 17 lawyers.
