Area B Corps join forces to host event

Rochester Business Journal

Staach Inc., Brand Cool Marketing Inc. and Socially Good Business—all Rochester B Corps—are planning an event that will open up discussion on how sustainable business is encouraged and achieved.

At a Green Drinks event, these three firms will have staff ready to inform others on how to become a Benefit Corporation or how to work with one at a Green Drinks event. Green Drinks, a program started by the Center for Environmental Initiatives, brings together environmental and sustainable-minded people to exchange ideas and network.

B Corps aim to use business practices to benefit society and the environment. These organizations often are certified by the non-profit B Lab to meet standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.

The Owl House will cater the Jan. 16, event with the ROC Brewing Co. serving locally brewed beers at Staach—250 Cumberland St.—from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event is free and open to the public.
