Frontier Communications Corp. has detailed network enhancements and capital investments it made last year to its operations in New York totaling more than $123.6 million.

Rochester was an integral part of that investment, the company said. Frontier said it invested significant funding for software upgrades and engineering projects in Rochester that will benefit the company’s coast-to-coast operations in 27 states.

“Frontier has a significant presence in the Rochester market, with many of our corporate functions operating from our Clinton Avenue facility,” said Kevin Smith, senior vice president and general manager of Frontier’s New York operations. “Rochester is a critical center within Frontier’s operations.”

Frontier’s regional Internet help desk, training, operator services, network operations center and engineering team have their headquarters in Rochester. The company has more than 1,300 area employees.
