Pita Pit in contest with other franchise locations

Rochester Business Journal
January 21, 2013

The Pita Pit at 1100 Jefferson Road in Henrietta is competing for the chance to offer free pitas to its customers for an entire day.

The Pita Pit location, owned by Rochester’s Dave Pennington, is one of 16 locations nationwide to make it to the latest round of the food chain’s contest.

The competition began January 3, with the 64 locations that received the most nominations. Each week half of the field was eliminated.

As of midday Monday, the Jefferson Road location was in 14th place. The competition will be cut down to the top eight locations on Jan. 25. Fans can vote on the Pita Pit’s Facebook page, facebook.com/pitapitrocks.

The overall winner will be revealed on February 15 and will receive the grand prize of being able to offer free pitas for an entire day to its customers.
