Logical Images Inc.’s VisualDx product has been selected for use by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the third consecutive year, company officials said.
The tool will provide diagnostic support to health care professionals who serve veterans within the VA’s 152 hospitals, more than 700 outpatient clinics and other facilities. The department has been using VisualDx since 2010.
“With VisualDx, the VA’s health care providers can quickly and accurately diagnose disease and then educate and empower veterans and their family members by showing them images and information in an easy-to-use and easy-to-understand format on a smart phone or tablet,” said Logical Images CEO Art Papier M.D., in a statement.
During appointments or at the bedside, physicians can enter a patient's symptoms, medical history and other information into VisualDx, which then delivers a list of potential diagnoses, and photographs. The data can be used for diagnosis.
The VisualDx database includes more than 100,000 peer-reviewed medical images and is available as an online and mobile resource.
