M&T Bank Corp. has partnered with a Paychex Inc. subsidiary on an online payroll- processing service for small businesses, the Buffalo-based bank announced Tuesday.

M&T, the largest bank in the Rochester market, and Glenview, Ill.-based Sure Payroll Inc. launched the service for businesses with 100 employees or less in markets served by M&T.

Sure Payroll is a wholly owned subsidiary of Paychex, which acquired the company in February 2011 for $115 million. Paychex headquarters are in Penfield.

Eligible businesses can enroll through a secure website that can be accessed in 30 minutes or less. Service begins as soon as seven days after enrollment, M&T said.

Features include payroll information and processing, direct payroll deposit and on-site check printing, flexible pay types, a self-service site for W2 and 1099 year-end statements, and filing and payment of federal, state and local taxes.

“Being a small-business owner is complicated enough, from finding your next client to managing expenses,” said Janet Coletti, senior vice president of business banking. “We’re now offering the simple option of managing payroll processing right through your bank.”

M&T ranks first in the Rochester market with local deposits of $3.6 billion.
