December 11, 2012

Information on a new degree program at Finger Lakes Community College will be presented at its Victor campus on Wednesday.

Educators, workforce professionals and parents can get a better understanding of the new IC Tech, or Instrumentation and Control Technologies degree, at a presentation of four students’ co-op experiences with local employers.

At the event Kerry Lipp of Prattsburgh, Steuben County, is slated to talk about his experience working on a prototype brick-laying robot at Construction Robotics LLC in Victor. Eric Fiegl of Canandaigua is to discuss software he developed for his co-op in the manufacturing engineering department of G. W. Lisk Co. Inc. in Clifton Springs, Ontario County.

In addition, Scott Chappelle of Gorham, Ontario County, and Keith McWilliams of Canandaigua are to explain their work as technicians responsible for the testing, troubleshooting and repair of a variety of telecommunications equipment for Redcom Laboratories Inc. in Victor.

The Victor campus is off Route 251. The event takes place at 5:30 p.m.

Attendees are asked to RSVP to Sam Samanta, FLCC professor of physics, at samantpg@flcc.edu.
