Event and Marketing Coordinator

BridgeTower Media’s two niche titles in the Rochester market - The Rochester Business Journal and The Daily Record, are seeking an event and marketing coordinator. This position will be responsible for assisting with the planning, execution, and growth of multi-industry business and legal events in the Greater Rochester Area with attendance varying from 30-1,000 attendees. Duties include: guest registration, ticket sales, print and digital marketing efforts, telemarketing and email marketing as well as sponsor and attendee contact before, during and after the event. This person is also responsible for assisting with marketing initiatives to grow subscriptions and brand awareness.

The ideal candidate must have a college degree and experience in events, sales or customer service. Excellent written, customer service and telemarketing skills are essential. The position will be part of a fast paced environment with multiple daily deadlines and various projects running concurrently. The candidate must have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task. Self-motivation, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn are all musts.

An exceptional candidate will have a degree in marketing, communications or journalism. Proven experience with social media marketing and advertising, email marketing and timeline management preferred, but not required.

Digital Content Manager

The Rochester Business Journal and the NY Daily Record are seeking a Digital Manager to lead the vision, strategy and implementation of our digital news on RBJdaily.com and NYDailyRecord.com. The ideal candidate will have 5-plus years of experience in a leadership role. Applicants must have strong digital and traditional journalism skills, an understanding of HTML and CSS, and a meticulous attention to detail. Experience with email newsletters and digital marketing is also a requirement. Experience with Wordpress or other content management systems is a plus. The Digital Manager will work closely with editors and journalists to improve digital content, provide training, enhance the quality of our websites, understand analytics and implement improvements based on analytics. This position is also responsible for growing our social media presences and providing expectations and training to staff for social media. The role will work closely with our corporate IT team to improve design and user experience and to implement new ideas. Some non-editorial marketing duties are occasionally required. The Daily Record has been a leader in the legal news market for 109 years, and the Rochester Business Journal has been a business news leader for 30 years. Both are owned by BridgeTower Media, a BtoB news company with various locations across the United States. Both products are the niche news sources for Western NY. Our ideal intern is a team player who possesses excellent communication and organizational skill, and who works well in team environments and under deadlines. 

Editorial, sales and marketing interns should be proficient in Microsoft Office applications and be internet savvy. Graphic design interns should have knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and InDesign.
