Breathe to open first franchise location in Greece

Pittsford-based Breathe Yoga & Juice Bar Inc. plans to open its first franchise location next spring.

It is to be located in the Country Village Plaza on Long Pond Road in Greece in a 4,000 square-foot space formerly occupied by a Talbots Inc. clothing and apparel shop for women.

Breathe Yoga announced plans for franchises in fall 2011. The company has locations in Pittsford and Webster, as well as a Breath at Home store for home furnishings in Pittsford.

“Through our franchise program, we have invited motivated individuals who share our passion for good health to be part of our extended Breathe family," said Cyndi Weis, who founded Breathe and runs the business with her two daughters, Abby, general manager and esthetician, and Carly, yoga instructor and acupuncturist.

The Greece franchise location has been purchased by Greece residents Carin Laniak and Ryan Barry. Laniak is vice president of Flower City Printing Inc. and Barry is assistant principal at Odyssey Academy. The two met during a teacher training session at Breathe in 2010.

“Ryan and I are thrilled to bring Breathe to Greece,” Laniak said. “We are deeply committed to the Greece community and want to offer those on the west side what Breathe offers elsewhere: great yoga, a supportive community, and a place to shop, eat good quality food, and get together with friends.”
