Xerox inks deal with Purdue University

Xerox Corp. announced a deal Tuesday with Purdue University in which the company will provide technology, software and process re-engineering in the university’s four print operations across Indiana.

The deal encompasses 60,000 students and more than 10,000 faculty members.

The services will result in a savings of up to 15 percent for the university for printing services, Xerox said. It is expected to enable the school to become more efficient in its document production operations.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Working with Xerox, Purdue will use personalization software and highlight color technology to produce documents. The university also will use Web-based ordering.

“Purdue’s ability to create a print infrastructure that adds value to their institution is a smart, strategic move,” said Mike Feldman, president of large enterprise operations at Xerox, in a statement. “Centralizing print services is more than just controlling production print—it is a communications strategy that readies organizations to manage digital content and documents in an economical, holistic way.”
