The Diocese of Rochester has named a new superintendent for its Catholic Schools.

Anthony Cook has been selected to succeed Anne Willkens Leach, who is retiring this year. Cook will take over on July 1.

Cook, a Rochester native, is currently the principal of Seton Catholic School in Brighton, a position he has held since January 2012. He will remain there until he takes over as superintendent.

Cook said he is honored to be selected and looks forward to the opportunity to lead the area’s diocesan schools.

“I look forward to working with all stake-holders of our local Catholic school community – including students, parents, pastors, principals, teachers, and staff,” Cook said, “I deeply value the responsibility I have in shaping students spiritually, academically, and personally while contributing to the success of Catholic education. It is a vocation to which I am wholeheartedly devoted.”
