Rochester-area financial advisers Marc Fischer and Stephen Brown are among New York’s top 100 advisers listed by Barron’s.

Fischer, executive director and institutional consulting director at Linden Oaks-based Graystone Consulting, ranked 74th on the 2013 list announced last month.

Fischer manages assets totaling $3 billion at Graystone, a unit of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney LLC, with typical accounts of $20 million from clients with typical net worth of $30 million. He was 55th on the 2012 list.

Brown, an adviser with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in Perinton, ranked 77th. He oversees assets of more than $2.5 billion, with typical accounts of $32 million from clients with an average net worth of $50 million. He ranked 84th last year.

Rankings are based on assets under management, revenue produced for the firm, regulatory record, quality of practice and philanthropic work, representatives of Barron’s explained.
