Hammer Packaging Inc. is adding 13,000 square feet to its headquarters in Henrietta, and a third variable sleeve offset printing press to make it the world’s largest user of that technology, company officials said.
The company, the largest commercial printer in the Rochester market, did not disclose the cost of the expansion, which will be on the south side of its existing 90,000-square-foot headquarters at Lucius Gordon Drive.
“This is a significant investment for our company,” President and CEO James Hammer said in a statement this week.
“The decision for the building addition is to better maintain our present workflow and maintain as much cost-effective manufacturing square footage as possible to support our aggressive strategic sales growth.”
The expansion will accommodate the third variable sleeve press, with room for a fourth press, representatives said.
The project is scheduled for completion Nov. 26, representatives said.
Hammer Packaging, established in 1912, moved to Lucius Gordon Drive in 1999.
It employs 396, making it the 20th largest manufacturer in the market as well as the largest printer, the Rochester Business Journal’s most recent lists show.
