Motorists have one more place to buy food and drink created in the Empire State, now that the Taste NY program has expanded to include the Pembroke Travel Plaza along Interstate 90 in Corfu, Genesee County.
Though there are some 60 locations where Taste NY products are being sold, the Corfu location is the first one on the Thruway west of Rochester. The rest stop is on the eastbound side of the Interstate, between the Pembroke and Batavia exits.
Packaged and ready-to-eat foods are available from the café, including Zweigle’s hot dogs from Rochester, pound cakes from the Bronx, coffee roasted in central New York and chocolates produced in Buffalo.
“We’re so excited to bring visitors traveling from Western New York a taste of the region—from New York dairy to maple,” said State Agriculture Commissioner Richard A. Ball. “The Taste NY program has grown dramatically since it was created by the governor (Andrew M. Cuomo) and shows no signs of slowing down.”
