Nazareth College of Rochester and SUNY College at Brockport are partnering with Jefferson Community College to bring a master’s of social work program to the Jefferson Higher Education Center in Watertown.
Nazareth and SUNY Brockport have partnered on the Greater Rochester Collaborative Master of Social Work for years, and in the fall it will be extended to the JCC campus, where there is no local alternative for such a program, officials said.
"Nazareth College's social work department has an outstanding reputation for collaboration which has provided the Rochester region with effective and caring professionals for decades," said Daan Braveman, Nazareth president, in a statement. "Partnering with Jefferson Community College allows us to extend our reach to the North Country region.”
SUNY Brockport officials add the partnership follows in the wishes of SUNY to fill unmet needs and deepen partnerships.
The degree will be offered as an advanced standing program and as a 60-credit program. Both will be offered on a part-time basis.
