Local state colleges have been named to the Kiplinger’s Personal Finance list of 100 Best Values in Public Colleges for 2013.
SUNY College at Geneseo ranked first for out-of-state students and ninth for in-state students. The rankings recognize four-year schools that combine outstanding education with economic value.
SUNY College at Brockport took the 83rd spot for in-state students, and 59 for out-of-state students.
Ten SUNY colleges were listed, including SUNY College at Binghamton, which ranked third on the list for out-of-staters and 12th for in-state students.
“I believe this ranking and others like it reflect what Geneseo focuses on year after year: A commitment at every level to providing the highest quality undergraduate learning experience possible,” said Christopher Dahl, SUNY Geneseo president.
“We applaud this year’s top 100 schools for their efforts to maintain academic standards while meeting the financial needs of their students,” said Janet Bodnar, editor of Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
The story appears in Kiplinger’s February 2013 issue and online at www.kiplinger.com/reports/best-college-values/.
The list ranks four-year schools that combine outstanding education with economic value. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill earned the top spot for the 12th consecutive year, a spot it has held every year since the list was first compiled.
