Habitat for Humanity plans Leaders Build Luncheon

Flower City Habitat for Humanity Inc., which builds homes and revitalizes neighborhoods in the city of Rochester, presents its Leaders Build Luncheon this month.

The event, slated for 11:30 a.m. Sept. 13, is under the white tent at Campbell and Whitney streets in Rochester’s Josana neighborhood. It’s sponsored by Five Star Bank.

Susan Holliday, president and publisher of the Rochester Business Journal, is the keynote speaker. She is to speak on Rochester’s economic and neighborhood revitalization through the efforts of local businesses.

Flower City Habitat for Humanity has built more than 35 houses in the Josana area and plans to build 100 houses in that neighborhood, Habitat officials said.

At the event, the organization plans to honor two companies with economic and neighborhood revitalization awards and recognize a local business that has made a significant contribution with its Roger Cross award.

The luncheon is a continuation of Leaders Build Week, an event in June that more than 130 business leaders contributed 700 hours to house building in the Josana neighborhood.
