LaBella Associates P.C. has opened an office in Madrid.

President Robert Healy said the new office allows the firm to add senior level personnel with experience in the energy market to that region.

“While the new location will focus on growing engineering opportunities globally it will also provide support to current operations,” Healy said in a statement.

CEO Sergio Esteban said the energy transmission and distribution market is a growing part of the firm’s services.

LaBella specializes in environment and property services, infrastructure development, strategic planning, power systems analysis, power quality, project feasibility development, detailed design and construction supervision, he said.

Over the past four years, LaBella has increased its services and geographical presence, opening offices in Buffalo, Corning and Ithaca; Scranton, Pa.; and Charlotte, N.C.

Rochester-based LaBella ranked third on the most recent Rochester Business Journal list of engineering firms.
