Transcat Inc., an Ogden-based service provider and distributor of calibration and measurement instruments, has hired a vice president of strategic business development.

Scott Sutter will be lead the development of Transcat’s new enterprise-client relationships, officials said. Prior to Transcat, Sutter spent 13 years at California-based Simco Electronics, where he served as vice president of the calibration company’s eastern region.

“The primary focus of this new position is to secure large customer relationships,’ said Lee Rudow, president and chief operating officer of Transcat, in a statement. “The addition of Scott to our executive team is very exciting as his depth and experience, leadership acumen, and successful track record is exactly what the company needs as we continue to develop our value proposition and deliver a superior suite of services to our clients throughout North America.”
