St. John Fisher College has named the former director of its executive leadership program to serve as the new dean of the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. School of Education.

The college Wednesday appointed Michael Wischnowski, who joined St. John Fisher in 2004 as associate professor of special education before becoming director of the executive leadership program.

“Dr. Wischnowski’s professional and academic experiences—through his teaching, scholarship, leadership, and service—underscore his devotion to the philosophy of the school of education and the mission of the college,” said Donald Bain, St. John Fisher president.

Wischnowski has been serving as interim dean of the school of education and played a key role in the recent establishment of an extension site at Onondaga Community College’s Higher Education Center.
