Rochester’s Original Crab Shack is under new ownership.

Manager Mike Kimble has acquired the Original Crab Shack from previous owners, the Daniele Family, which owns Mario’s Italian Steakhouse and Bazil’s, the restaurant said Tuesday.

Kimble has been manager at the Original Crab Shack since it opened just more than two years ago. The restaurant will continue to have the same name, staff and menu, he said.

Kimble is to operate the eatery with his brother Mark. The Daniele family will continue to own the property and building where the restaurant is located on East Henrietta Road in Brighton.

“It has been a privilege to work for the Daniele Family,” Kimble said in a statement. “They are truly great partners and I have learned so much from them. I have always wanted to own my own restaurant. I love the Crab Shack restaurant concept of fresh seafood and this was the perfect opportunity for me to take the next step in my life.”
