Rochester Midland names co-CEOs

Rochester Midland Corp. has appointed new co-CEOs, effective Jan. 1.

Katherine Lindahl and Bradley Calkins have been named co-CEOs, the company said Monday. They are the daughter and son of Harlan Calkins, chairman and CEO, who will continue to serve as chairman, focusing on capital, shareholder relations, acquisitions and special projects.

Lindahl joined Rochester Midland in 1993 and has held various positions within the company and is president of the Specialty Chemicals Division. Bradley Calkins has been with the company since 1990 and  is president of Rochester Midland’s Global Division.

In addition the firm made two additional management moves. Glenn Paynter, currently president, will become president and chief operating officer, and Newton Green, senior sustainability engineer, has been named vice president of corporate quality.

Harlan Calkins has been CEO of the company since 1982. He was inducted into the Rochester Business Hall of Fame in 2010.

Founded in 1888, Rochester Midland manufactures specialty chemicals for food sanitation, industrial cleaning and water treatment as well as housekeeping and restroom care programs.

The company ranked 39th on the Rochester Business Journal’s most recent list of private companies with 165 employees. It reported $83 million in sales in 2011.
