Caldwell Manufacturing to buy assets of Arizona firm

Caldwell Manufacturing Co. LLC said Tuesday it has signed an agreement with B12 Capital Partners LLC to acquire substantially all of the assets of Arizona-based Doors in Motion LLC.

Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Caldwell anticipates the closing of the transaction prior to the end of the month.

Doors in Motion was founded in 2001 and is known for providing proprietary residential and light commercial door automation products and the fabrication of large multipanel door systems.

The deal adds to Caldwell’s offerings and complements it existing line of sliding window and door hardware, said Eric Mertz, president and CEO.

“With Caldwell products being sold in nearly 60 countries worldwide and (with) over 125 years of innovation experience combined with our market leading hardware solutions, Caldwell is now further poised to respond to the increased demands of today’s building market in both the U.S. and abroad,” Mertz said in a statement.

Ogden-based Caldwell was founded in 1888.
