NeighborWorks Rochester and the Pocket Neighborhood Group based in North Winton Village neighborhood will be kicking off Creative Crosswalks Paint Day, a community crosswalk paint day Saturday at Kansas and Main streets.
The project is slated to run 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is part of a HealthyBlocks community strategy between NeighborWorks Rochester and residents from neighborhood group. The initiative includes beautification efforts and homeowner renovation projects with assistance from loan programs and grants underwritten by NeighborWorks Rochester.
“I am excited to see the great progress residents have achieved in the Pocket that comes from their passion and community participation during our time there,” said Kim Brumber, NeighborWorks Rochester CEO, in a statement. “Residents are committed to their neighborhood and that is the most critical step towards ensuring success in a neighborhood.”
HealthyBlocks underwriters include Citizens Bank Foundation and The Daisy Marquee Jones Foundation.
NeighborWorks Rochester is a housing agency serving Rochester and Monroe County residents. It is a non-profit affiliate of NeighborWorks America.
