The Greater Rochester International Airport will benefit from more than $1.4 million in federal funding to repair the apron on one of its taxiways, officials announced Tuesday.

The airport will receive a $1.45 million grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation to rehabilitate taxiway C, where aircraft are loaded and unloaded, boarded, parked and refueled, officials said.

The funding is administered by the DOT’s Federal Aviation Administration. It will be used to repair cracks and prevent deterioration of the apron, officials said.
